Punch Detox - My Very First Juice Detox Programme

I have never tried any detox programme in my life, I was originally quite skeptical about the real effects of these detox programme. Recently I have seen many of my friends started some juice detoxing and got me interested. Being a foodie myself, eating out and snacking alot had made me put up quite a lot of weight in the past year, not to mention many are unhealthy food! My friend introduced me Punch Detox and said she felt much more energised and lost a bit of weight with Punch Detox. Telling me how amazing she felt urges me to determine to start my own little detox try out as well.

ChumChumMi - Bonchon Chicken Crave

Price: $$
Cravingness: ★★★★☆

No fried chicken can replace Bonchon chicken. You can always see me trying to seek for restaurants that offer a similar taste of Bonchon in Hong Kong. The closest taste and texture I found so far is from Yardbird, Sheung Wang. I saw a photo of spicy fried chicken on instagram one day and I bookmarked the restaurant immediately. The restaurant was ChumChumMi.

The Parlour - Mediocre Bubbly Sunday Brunch

Price: $$$$
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆

I have never dined at the beautiful antique Hullett House, so I was quite excited brunching at the Parlour last Sunday. The bubbly brunch offers buffet salad and dessert counters, a main course from a wide selection with free flow champagne, summer wild berries champagne cocktails, fresh juices and carbonated drinks at a price of HKD668. Quite expensively priced, one of my friends got us special deal from Travel Zoo so we can indulge the brunch at HKD560! How could we ignore the offer?

Stephen James Organic Pili Nuts

My first encounter with Stephen James Organics' Pili Nuts was at Giando's tasting brunch and I fell in love with it immediately. I never had nuts with the same texture as Pili nuts. What is most special about Pili nuts I reckon is how each and every one tastes slightly different. It gave me some surprises and joy when I am having them. Special thanks to Stephen James Organics  for sending me these lovely nuts to sample! :)

Glacio - Belgium Hummingbird

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆

You scream, I scream, we scream for ice-cream. Yes, under this sizzling hot summer, all we want is just a scoop of ice-cream and here is the first ever Belgium ice-cream shop in Hong Kong, Glacio! I was invited to its grand opening on 3 August 2013 where it is located on the lower ground floor at K-11, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Grove - Smoked Salmon Salad

I had Grove's Smoked Salmon Salad today as I need to pre-cleanse my body before I start my 3 day Cleanse Punch Detox programme.

The Smoked Salmon Salad is the second salad I tried from Grove Sandwiches. Differs from the Greek Salad, the mayonnaise dressing was pre-mixed in the box. There was loads of potatoes, sweet corn, apple, pineapple, cucumber, lettuce, two thick slices of smoked salmon and salmon roe on top. The smoked salmon was aromatic, meaty and savoury with strong salmon taste. The lemon wedge at the side added extra acidity to the salmon and also made it less oily to taste. The roe did not seem too fresh and got stick together.

Ippudo - The Come Back Champion Kiwami Shinaji Ramen!

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★★★

Great news for Ippudo fans! To celebrate Ippudo's second anniversary in Hong Kong, Ippudo is bringing back again the famous Kiwami Shinaji Ramen (極新味麵王拉麵) to Hong Kong! Grandma's Dessert - The Taste of Local Dessert Soup

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★★★

I know Chinese Dessert Soup is not everyone's cup of tea, many of my friends do actually prefer western desserts more. With chain dessert shops all around the corner, it might be convenient to dine at those places, but I never found myself truly contended with the taste those chain shops offer. There are certain tastes that you feel contented with and feels right and homey. To fish for those tastes, you really have to go to the local shops for authentic tasted Chinese dessert soup. Grandma's Dessert is among one of them.

Lung Fung Cafe - Meh...Microwaved food!?

Price: $
Cravingness: ★☆☆☆☆

Spam Sandwich with Scramble Egg and Caviar
Long has Lung Fung Cafe opened in Tai hang and knowing it is opened by a local comedian/ actor, I was never interested in dining there. I had heard some bad comments about the Cha Chaan Tan but I never listen unless I try it myself. Judging from the photos hanging from the windows outside the Cha Chaan Teng, even it was absolutely empty at 8.30pm on a Sunday night, we went in without concerned.

King Bakery - Egg Tart

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆

It was my colleague's last working day, so he got us some egg tart from King Bakery as a thank you gift. I felt sad about his leaving but was happy to have his egg tart :P. Since I just had Tai Cheong's egg tart a few days ago, the memory was still fresh so I can make a comparison.

Tai Cheong - Delish Egg Tart

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★★☆

We were walking along Johnston Road, Wanchai and smelled a drooling aroma from Tai Cheong Bakery Express. Although heading to dinner, we could not resist to get an egg tart to share.

Kung Lee - Delicious Sugar Cane Cake

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★★★

Even if you are not fond of or do not believe in the benefits in drinking Chinese herbal tea, you will not resist a cup of sweet sugar cane juice. Among hundreds of herbal tea shops in Hong Kong, Kung Lee has to be the most famous herbal tea shop in Hong Kong.  Having a slight advantage in geographical means, i.e. their shops in the most hectic street in soho and Wan Chai, they sell thousands of sugar cane juice and other herbal tea per day. Same as eggettes, you can claim you have been to Hong Kong if you did not try a cup of this goddess sugar cane juice.

Despite the sugar cane juice, I really love Kung Lee's Sugar Cane Cake. The cake tastes like glutinous cake with its chewiness. The cake was only mildly sweet with a mild sugar cane taste. This sugar cane cake is a light dessert, which you can take it anytime of the day, even before dinner!

Coco Ichibanya - Sudden Curry Crave

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★★☆

Recently opened in Megabox, Coco Ichibanya finally brought some good news to the hungry working group in Kowloon Bay. As usual, I went after the lunch hour to skip the crazy queue, I ordered the Roasted Duck Curry and topped my favourite Cream Croquette as a side.

Pho Tai - New Pho in Kowloon Bay

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆

There are quite a few new restaurant excitements in Kowloon Bay recently. From Ippudo and Dondonya a few months ago, to Coco Curry Ichibanya and Pho Tai. Pho Tai in particular excited me the most, since I got seduced by their drooling aroma every morning I pass by their shop, plus I heard their pho is nice. It is literally not possible to dine at Pho Tai during lunch hour, so I went in after 2pm instead.

Pak Dong - "Authentic" Hainan Chicken

Price: $
Cravingness: ★☆☆☆☆

I went all the way to Amoy Plaza's Pak Dong Hainan Chicken as it claims to offer "authentic" Hainan Chicken. I checked the reviews which was quite positive and promising, yet you should never trust anyone's taste bud but yours.

Strip House by Harlan Goldstein - Flirty Food

Price: $$$$
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆1/2

Strip House by Harlan Goldstein is an American steakhouse located amidst the lustrous Lang Kwai Fang. With a sexual name, Strip House creates a flirty ambiance for its diners.

Starting with a red luminous light with "Strip House by Harlan Goldstein" on a red wall, a red and black table setting with sex symbol Marilyn Monroe cushion, black and white posters with nudity, bold sexy red lips wallpaper at the washroom etc. Even the menu and drink list play with flirty words like Sickest Crabcakes in the World or "Kick Ass" Mac and cheese or Panty Dropper. Not to mention they play Frank Sinatra, my favourite jazz singer on earth. It already sounds fun dining at Strip House.

On On BBQ - Canto Grill

Yet they do offer Chinese dishes, especially this Chicken a La King is the best Chicken a La King in town!

Fofo by El Willy - Best Served Last

Price: $$$
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆

It is restaurant week again, meaning a week of crazy dinning. Fofo by El Willy is the first restaurant I went this time. It is not my first time dining at Fofo by El Willy. I had it once last year for dinner at NY count down and it wasn't too amazing given its price. Since the 9 courses restaurant week menu looked interesting, I decided to give Fofo by El Willy another chance.

Grove - Healthy Greek Salad

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆

Under many negative encouragements from my "dearest" friends on facebook regarding my status determining to lose weights, I bought myself today Grove's salad for lunch. Well to be completely honest, the reason behind was actually because I am having a big feast tonight. I reckon I probably should have salad to cut down the overall calories intake. :P

[Snack] Snack Sand Cracker - Cocoa Cream

I have always love biscuits with chocolate fillings. I saw this box of cracker at 759 store today and bought it immediately for coffee snack.

The box is quite big in size, so I was kind of surprise that it only holds 5 packs of biscuits within. Within each packs holds 2 pieces of chocolate biscuits. (I double checked, they did mention 95g 2pcs x 5 packs on the box. Oops!)

Green Lounge - Lovely Brunch & Dessert

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆1/2

There are a few cafes in Sheung Wan who offer pastries and cakes for dessert, yet these cafes often close earlier. If you dine in the area at night and want something sweet afterwards, you can go to the Green Lounge. The Green Lounge, a cafe renowned for their yummy brunch and all-day breakfast, has recently launched a dessert menu for all the sweet tooth. The dessert menu is available from 3pm to 11.30pm throughout the weekend. More reason to indulge in desserts anytime anyday!

Cravingness: ★★★★★

Qing Hai Xiao Guan (澄海小館), a Chiu Chow restaurant located in Ap Lei Chau, is totally a hidden gem and is my new Chiu Chow favourite restaurant. I just found out I have never been to Ap Lei Chau for my entire life, not to mention finding this restaurant over there!

Duddell's - Celebrity Canto Diner

Price: $$$$
Cravingness: ★☆☆☆☆

Duddell's is a recently opened Cantonese restaurant that is meant to make a wow on Duddell's street. Duddell's combines fine Cantonese food and fine art in one setting. The two floors 8,000 square feet restaurant is spacious enough to accommodate different sizes of arts, I particularly admire the ones along the staircase, while the ones at the front doors (see photo below) were too artistic to me lol.

Clay Oven - Yummy Tandoori Chicken

Price: $$
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆

I was invited to the Clay Oven at Kennedy Town for a try out of their authentic Indian cuisine. I was elated since I love Indian cuisine, also knowing they use clay oven, the real Indian BBQ and grill oven stone excited me.

The restaurant is small but homey with Indians posters all over the wall. The restaurant is quite dim in general but is liven up by the illuminating open bar. Server was attentive and was very keen on giving recommendation. The menu has a lot of choices with colourful pictures which makes dishes selection easy.

Morihachi Tamago - For Egg Lovers But...

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★☆☆☆

I knew about Morihachi Tamago's existence from my friend Su's Facebook post on a drooling egg toast. Being an egg lover, I went immediately a few days later.

The menu has a similar design as Coco Curry Ichibanya, even the way how you can add extra salad or drinks into your main. There is a lot of options on the menu, you could spend quite a while before figuring out what you want.

Fiat Caffé - New Items on Menu

Price: $$
Cravingness: ★★☆☆☆

If you walk along Leighton Road, you might pass by Fiat Caffé and think it is nothing but a car showroom. The two floors Fiat Caffé is a great concept by bringing food and a car showroom together (like how Ikea brought snack shop/ restaurant into their stores). With an eye catching Fiat model displaying on the ground floor, passenger's attention are definitely drawn in. When you step into the shop, an instant flow of coffee aroma hits you and then you will realise there is a cafe located on top.
