Texas Burger - Burger Disappointment

Price: $
Cravingness: ★☆☆☆☆

In the past months, there has been more exciting cozy restaurants opening in Tin Hau, I have put a few on my to try list, including Texas Burger which I was invited to try today. I asked a few of my friends and got positive feedback and so I went.

Cafe R & C - Cute 3D Kitty Latte Art

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆

If you are a Facebook or Instagram user, you must have seen this cute cup of beverage at least once. It is either from Allegretto in Taim Sha Tsui or Cafe R&C in Causeway Bay. These two cafes are always packed and has long queue due to this signature cup of cappuccino, especially over the weekends. One might easily wait over an hour for this cup of coffee. I went Cafe R&C for dinner on a weekday and luckily there was no one waiting.

Grain de Sel - The New Takeaway Creperie

Cravingness: ★★★☆☆1/2

The popular French creperie Fleur de Sel has recently opened a new take away concept creperie, Grain de Sel in the Sheung Wan neighbourhood. The new Grain de Sel offers traditional French galettes and crepes made with a new recipe and in a special machine to make take away feasible! Fans can now enjoy quality galettes anywhere they want!

Spade by Lassana - Festive Special Honey Toast

Cravingness: ★★★☆☆1/2

There are something in honey toast box that we love. The beautiful appearance, the delicious toppings and the crunchy toast with soft and spongy inner. If you have been trying to queue for Dazzling Cafe without luck, I would recommend an equally nice cafe to you, Spade by Lassana.

Mangochacha - Legit Taiwanese Mango Shaved Ice

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆1/2

My first encounter with Mango shaved ice was a few years ago in Ice Monster, Taipei where I fell straight in love with it. The reason why Taiwanese shaved ice is delicious and addicting is because of its lovely texture which is very different from the traditional crushed ice. MangoChaCha, a popular shaved ice dessert shop from Taiwan has recently made its stop in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong and so I paid a visit.

Cafe O, Central

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆

Cafe O is a modern international cafe and restaurant in Hong Kong offering a wide range of bakery, sandwiches, pastas, pizza and beverages. Cafe O opened its first flagship store in 2004 at Arbuthnot Road, Central, and is still mainly located at the western region of Hong Kong Island. Distinguishing itself from its surrounding fast food style cafes, Cafe O serves hot food such as egg Benedict's, pasta and pizza.

Horng Ryen Jen Cake & Biscuits Store - The famous Sandwich Shop in Taiwan

I have travelled to Taiwan a lot of times for the past few years, mainly to visit my relatives but also for seeking food. I do not have the urge to visit Taiwan again yet, but this particular sandwich whose name I have only heard of recently, had me reconsidered visiting again. Just happens Henry went to Taiwan last weekend and I gave him a "bring back or no return" request for the sandwich. (Haha!) Turned out he brought me back a whole box! =D

Zebratasty - Your New Sandwich & Salad Shop in Kowloon Bay

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★★☆

This might only interest the working group at Kowloon Bay as I am going to introduce a fine sandwich and salad delivery shop called Zebratasty in Kowloon Bay. Zebratasty is opened by two of my Uni friends. The passionate two are eager to become the best of its kind in the Kowloon Bay office area.

I am not recommending this shop because they are my friends, I am recommending it because the food tasted delicious. I dine at Pret all the time but I got bored to the never changing menu. The Grove next door is pricey given it's hideous portion, and it's not even fresh. I have tried almost everything on Zebratasty's menu, and I truly think they offers fresh delicious food at competitive price. Plus there is no minimum order amount for delivery!

Steik World Meats - New Afternoon Tea

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆

I was invited over to Steik Wold Meats at K-11 as they have recently launched an afternoon tea session. The afternoon tea highlights a wide range of savoury and sweet delights, priced only at HKD248+10% for two with complimentary coffee and tea with unlimited refills. I have always wanting to try their steaks, but it is nice to try their afternoon tea too.

[Nha Trang] Phở Hồng - The Best Vermicelli

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★★☆

After my pool training of my Open Water Diving Course, I asked my instructor, who is a local Vietnamese from Nha Trang, where to have good pho in Nha Trang and he recommended Pho Hong. Hungry as I was, I immediately grabbed my boyfriend and headed to Pho Hong by Taxi. When I handed the taxi driver the paper with the name Pho Hong on it, he immediately knew where to go. It seems Quán Phở Hồng is pretty famous in Nha Tang.

[Nha Trang] Hồng Giang Phở - The Best Pho Broth On Earth

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★★☆

The first thing/ mission we arrived Nha Trang, Vietnam is to find a nice bowl of Pho! We asked the Sunrise Nha Trang receptionist, she said Sunrise has it's own Vietnamese restaurant but local pho restaurants are everywhere. Hence we decided to try our luck by walking around the area. Our criteria was simple, the pho place has to be local. Somehow my idea of where to get pho is the more shady a place gets, the better their pho is. After a brief 10 minutes search, we found Hong Giang Pho. I am really glad we found Hong Giang, as it serves the pho in Nha Trang style!

Blisshive - Not As Good As I Expected

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★☆☆☆

BlissHIVE Bakery Café is a bakery at Tai Hang that makes fresh bread, it is also a pretty nice cafe to spend the afternoon (ambiance wise). The floor to ceiling window allows sufficient sunlight into the cafe. I love the cheerful music playing at the background and the constant flow of coffee aroma in the air. The ambience here relaxes me.

Bao Wow - Fast, Casual, Affordable Bao

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆

If you ask what is the recent food trend in Hong Kong, it is definitely Bao. Bao has made a scene in Hong Kong and if you notice more restaurants are adding bao into the menu, recent examples would be Comfort by Gold Harlans or Mayta Peruvian Kitchen. And of course there are restaurants that specialise in only bao, so today I am going to introduce to you a pretty new one in Wanchai called Bao Wow.

Mymy Caffè - Oh My! Decadent Hot Chocolate!

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★★☆

Ever since my first sip of rich velvety hot chocolate in Barcelona, I have always been a big fan of hot chocolate. Not just any chocolate, but thick velvety chocolate. Back in Hong Kong, most of the time I go to Vero's Chocolate for their decadent hot chocolate. Recently I am introduced to Italian hot chocolate by Henry and I have to say I first found the texture funny. For those of you who have not tried Italian hot chocolate before, I am going to introduce Mymy Caffè to you.

Teakha - Nice place to Chill

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆1/2

If you are looking for a cafe to spend a lazy afternoon, Teakha would be your choice. Located at Sheung Wan, this al fresco tea house offers a good range of teas and delicate cakes and pastries. There are a few tables available outdoor, but be warned that this place is very popular and tends to get very crowded during the weekend. Try to arrive before 2pm before the crowd shows up.

LKK - Hong Kong Street Snack Waffle

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆

My sister and I were already big fan of LKK, the famous eggettes (Hong Kong Egg Waffle) snack shop at North Point back when we were in secondary school. There are no numerous branches of LKK now in Hong Kong. Although very easily accessible, the quality varies among branches. Today I went to the branch at Wanchai for their condensed milk and peanut butter waffle.

La Rotisserie - French Chicken Now in Wan Chai

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★★☆

Trying to skip carbs for a day and La Rotisserie who offers authentic French rotisserie chicken immediately came in mind. I am glad they opened a new branch in Wan Chai as it is much more convenient to me. I ordered half a chicken with a side to go for the night.

Wired Cafe - The Dutch Baby

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆1/2

Craving for something during tea time and having no luck in getting a seating at Coffee Alley (who does anyway?), I went to Wired Cafe instead at Hysan, Causeway Bay.

Hungry Korean - For Hungry Chinese

Price: $
Cravingness: ☆☆☆☆☆

When I thought Korean fast food culture WAS a fad in Hong Kong, shops are still opening everywhere! I went to Hungry Korean at Causeway Bay tonight for a quick dinner. I think it is a branch as I have seen one at Tsim Sha Tsui years ago.

Little Burro - Not as fresh as I expected

Price: $
Cravingness: ★☆☆☆☆

I always joke about franchising Chipotle to Hong Kong. Giving its popularity in the US, I would make lots of money here. I guess the owner of Little Burro had the same thought, but instead of franchising, they opened their own concept store, Little Burro at Causeway Bay. Having a slight difference thought on location though, I would have chose Wanchai or Central. It seems it could generate more lunch/ dinner crowds.
