Sunday Bake Day - A Hearty Local Bakery in Hong Kong

In the coming two posts I will be introducing two hearty local online bakeries to you which both of the owners are passionate about baking and pursuing their hobby into business. First I am going to talk about Sunday Bakeday's homemade cookie.



Sunday Bakeday is a home bakery founded by a group of energetic and creative friends, which one of them, Onyue happens to be a great baker. Sunday Bakeday started off with Onyue constantly baking delicious goodies to friends which ended up starting an online business together. Sunday Bakeday sells delicious whoopie pies, cookies, cakes and all kinds of patisseries online. Just so happens one of the owners is a friend of mine, who design this bold and cheerful logo for Sunday Bakeday.

This little white box packs four signature flavours of cookie from Sunday Bakeday. I love the pressed logo on the white box, looking elegant and pretty.

The four flavours I tried was Hazelnut Chocolate Chips, White Chocolate Pistachio, Triple Chocolate and Cranberry Cream Cheese.

The Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie carried a mild chocolate flavour with a cute brownie like texture. The crust had a slight crunch, the inner was moist and was not as crumbly as any typical cookies. The sea salt sprinkles on the cookie was a pleasant surprise which escalated the chocolate flavour of the cookie. The Hazelnut Chocolate Chip Cookie tastes pretty much like a tune down version of the Triple Chocolate Chip cookie.

The White Chocolate Pistacchio Cookie carried a lovely pistacchio fragrance. The texture was nice with a crunchy crust and soft inner. The buttery note was rather strong in this one which I like a lot. This cookie was also sprinkled with sea salt, which again brought up the flavour of the cookie.

The Cranberry Cream Cheese cookie tasted slightly more chewy than the previous two and carried more toasted aroma in it. It had a very airy and supple texture which was very interesting, but I am not too fond of. The flavour though, I like. A contrasting flavour between sweet raisins and savoury cream cheese was lovely, especially when the cream cheese was shaped into a flowery pattern in the middle of the cookie.

Sunday Bakeday has their taste and packaging well thought of, and hence I would highly recommend Sunday Bakeday's bake goodies for parties or as a little gift for your special ones. The four cookies that I tried are some of their best selling cookie flavours, yet you can always ask for especial flavour from the baking queen Onyue. I am sure you will find a flavour that you love.
