[Osaka] Rikuro Ojisan no Mise - Moist & Dense Cheesecake

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆1/2

Rikuro cheese cake is a traditional cheesecake shop with more than 50 years of history. It is famous for its spongy cheesy cheese cake (焼きたてチーズケー). If you happens to pass by Rikuro, you will never miss the shop, because there is always a constant queue at the door front.

Don't be surprised when you see there is two lines at Rikuro. The red line is for freshly baked cheesecake, while the blue is for cheesecake that was baked 2-3 hours ago. Opt for the blue line if you are in hurry.

Whenever there is a new batch of freshly baked cheesecake, the staff will ring the bell while stamping the logo onto the top of the cheesecake. The scene was quite to watch.

The Cheesecake was made with hokkaido milk, fresh eggs, cream cheese from Danmark and raisons from California. I found out the cheesecake actually has two taste and texture given in two different condition. When it is freshly baked, it has less cheese flavour and with a dense texture like tofu; but when it is refrigerated, the cheese flavour becomes stronger and the texture was more light and spongy. I think I personally love the refrigerated version more.

I also got the egg pudding which was mildly sweet, bouncy and yummy. Grab it too if you have the stomach space!
