Turkey promotions are everywhere and restaurants under the belt of my beloved culinary group Maximal Concepts, Mott32, Blue Butcher and Fish & Meats have all introduced their own version of turkey. And in Mott 32, it's going to be Peking Turkey! Sounds freaking awesome, isn't it?

Man Mo Café - Fusion East-Meets-West Dim Sum

Among the vintage and nostalgic stalls on the Upper Lascar Row of Cat Street lies a cosy restaurant Man Mo Café. Named after our beloved temple Man Mo Temple, Man Mo Café is not a cafe serving coffee but a fusion dim sum restaurant offering innovative East-meets-West dim sum.

My mom wanted the bring baby Jacob out for lunch since they have not left home for the past three days. Carrying an infant baby to lunch did not give us too much option on a rainy day, so we opted for Pak Lok Chiu Chow at Times Square. Parking is available at Times Square so we don't need to worry about the baby getting wet.

Mott 32, an exciting Chinese Restaurant newly opened at central, is the talk of the town lately. I would never ever expect such a great hype on any Chinese restaurant. The grand opening night of Mott 32's was truly grand and magnificent. The entrance was red carpeted all the way to the restaurant, celebrities, skinny models with flashy outfit and smart looking guys were everywhere at the night of the opening.

Mott 32 is the new venture at the gourmet family Maximal Concepts, which also owns restaurants such as Blue Butcher, Brickhouse and Fish and Meat. I am a big fan of the group myself. Given the background, the food quality at Mott 32 is much guaranteed. I was invited over for a tasting at Mott 32 tonight, so let me show you what's good in there.

It was a terrible dining experience for me and I once thought I will never step into the doorstep of Duddell's ever again. However some of my foodie friends kept telling me how good Duddell's dim sum is (PS they have not tried dinner!), which urged me to go back to Duddell's today for their dim sum.

Tonight's dinner highlighted all the most popular dishes in Joy & Joy Cantonese Restaurant. Every dishes are explained in details on the preparations procedures and techniques, I appreciated the time and effort every staff put into the dishes. After tasting Joy & Joy's delicacies, I must admit I have been missing out for all this time.

The craving is amplified especially after a night out or partying. When it hits 3am, my favourite restaurant to go would be in no doubt Sun Hing Restaurant (新興食家).

2012 is all about RETRO. Retro Fashion, Retro Hair, even Chinese restaurant Nanhai No. 1 followed this trend and offer a range of retro dim sum! Dim sum nowadays is all about creativity and packaging, Nanhai decided to bring back some truly traditional but left behind dim sum to us, and how could we not pay a visit?

Nanhai No.1 is located at isquare 26/F, a prime location to overlook the magnificent view of the Victoria Harbour. Upon arriving the reception of the restaurant, I saw the receptionist wearing a stripe tee shirt. "How casual." was my immediate thought. Turns out every staff except the managers was wearing the very same stripe tee shirt to align with the cruising theme. The theme is implemented from huge dinning room decoration to small individual utensils such as chopsticks holder.

Crystal lotus is a Chinese Restaurant located in Disney which serves dim sum shaped in popular Disney characters. However the popular dim sum do not offer daily, so it is better if you book them in advance.

Super Star Seafood Restaurant - Dim Sum Sunday

As a family tradition, we have dim sum every Sunday afternoon. To be honest, there is not much variation in dim sum which I sometimes get sick of their look and taste.

Today we went to Super Star Seafood Restaurant in Times Square.  I laughed at how lame the restaurant's name is, Super Star Seafood Restaurant! Very old fashioned. There was a lot of people waiting for seats but we got ours within 15 minutes or so.

Very Savory Peanuts & Fishes

Sunday family lunch as usual, we went to Victoria City Seafood for dim sum. I dine here once with clients before and the dishes were quite nice here. The environment there was pretty decent, the noisiness was acceptable. The interior was nice but definitely not as grand as Prince Restaurant.

The tea pot was cute and was heated all the time on a candle. Seemingly posh, the restaurant did not have enough manpower to serve all its customers. The service speed was quite slow as a result. One nice thing about Victoria City Seafood Restaurant was that their dim sum would not come to you at the same time. They came one after each other which gave us time in between to taste the dim sum as our own pace.

Prince Restaurant - An Equality Between Quality & Price?

In this Sunday afternoon, I brought my family to the Prince Restaurant for dim sum where it was renowned for its fine and pricey dinning. The restaurant environment was nice and quiet, pretty spacious and was nicely furnished. The area was filled up with well-dressed customers and waiter. We were seated at a table in the private area. The utensils were nicely setup and nice pre-meal snacks were served before we ordered our food.
