In the past months, there has been more exciting cozy restaurants opening in Tin Hau, I have put a few on my to try list, including Texas Burger which I was invited to try today. I asked a few of my friends and got positive feedback and so I went.

Silly Boo - Terrible Froyo

I have been to Sillyboo for quite a few times but never really wrote a review on it. Froyo was actually my intiative to start my own blog, then share reviews in different platforms. Froyo race was once my big goal when the froyo stores in Hong Kong can be counted with your two hands.

Same as many froyo stores, Sillyboo has several froyo machines for original flavour and seasonal flavours. Sillyboo offers free tasting of their froyo before making your final choice. The flavours of the day that I went were Caramel, Mango and Original. I asked for a tasting of the caramel froyo and found it was crazily sweet, so I went for the safe choice, the original flavour.

Mak Siu Kee - Great Canto Food that CANNOT be missed.

Mak Siu Kee Traditional Wonton Noodle (麥兆記) is a tiny little store specialised in wonton and beef brisket noodles on electric road. My family and I have always been a fan here. Their beef brisket noodles by far is my favourite in terms of flavour.

It is always me who have the desire to seek and try nice food, but for my parents, all they want might just be a simple yet delicious meal. Tak Cheong Noodles is one of those simple but nice little restaurant that my family and I like alot. Tin Hau actually has a lot of those restaurants, we usually dine there twice a week for quickie but nice dinners.

Chilli Thai | Attack the Thai Puff Pastry Chicken

I wanted Thai. I was thinking about a safe choice like Simply Thai, but I figured maybe I should try something new and hence I chose Chilli Thai Restaurant. We arrived the restaurant at 9pm but there were still people queuing in front of the restaurant. While we were waiting, the waitress approached us, told us that our seat would be ready in a minute and whether we would like to order first. As we had checked the food on the menu earlier while we waited, we ordered straight away. The total waiting time was about 15 minutes, but it was fine as there were a cooling fan outside the restaurant to provide a cool breeze.

The food had started to serve to us before we sat warm our seat. Everything came so promptly, the dishes were all packed together in a small 2-people table. The waiter, seemingly the manager or some sort of higher level staff noticed the scene, pulled and combined the table next to us immediately to give us more space. Very thoughtful of him, I was very impressed.

I had no idea about this restaurant until I saw its name listed in the Top Ten Restaurant on Openrice.com. I read from the reviews that it had opened for more than 50 years. I suggested paying it a visit to my parents on Sunday morning on its last day, and to my surprise, my mum used to dine in there before. I questioned about why are all old fashioned restaurant called Bing Café. She said its because Red Bean Ice and Pineapple Ice was what they always have when heading to those restaurants. There weren't much choice to choose from, not like what the cafes could offer nowadays.
