Environment (4/10)
An open display windows to showcase all their lovely pastries. There were also a fancy looking Chocolate Brewing Machine. The name tags of the pastry are extremely small, so it was rather difficult to spot their names. It was also pretty weird to dine in the cake shop as there is no seats in the area.
Services (9/10)
Rather splendid! Both staffs were very nice and helpful in explaining drinks and pastries.
Dark Raspberry (7/10)
A chocolate drink of 70% Signature Chocolate with added Raspberry Flavour, but was not as aromatic as I anticipated. The drink had a slightly bitter taste but was sweethen with a lovely raspberry flavour. It was very thick and smooth in texture, with a slightly solidified top layer. Love it a lot but feeling very full afterwards.I took this with iPad, sorry for the bad photo |
Cinnamon Apple (8/10)
Contained a rich apple flavor and a mild cinnamon taste. Love the white chocolate paste on top which had a strong vanilla taste. The Chocolate feathers on top were unexpectedly good, and the jelly layer in the middle greatly enhanced the overall texture. It was generally good but was too creamy for me.
Cassis Mallow (4/10)
A very strong but sour blackcurrant flavour. The marshmallow was spongy but was pretty sour as well. Five layers in total, each has a different taste and texture - spongy blackcurrant tasted marshmallow - creamy white chocolate cream - lowest two layers were both sponge cakes with bits of crisps in them. Overall too sour for me.
Ecuador Chocolate (9/10)
Dark chocolate paste spreaded on top of a rather hard dark chocolate sponge cake. Below were two layers of smooth chocolate paste - a mild dark chocolate and white chocolate. Base crust tasted like Mc Vita's biscuits. Yum!Personally reckon Vero's cakes are very interesting in texture. They were layered to give a complex texture and taste, and I appreciate their creativity very much. Judging the environment, I guess I would recommend the Wanchai branch instead so you could sit down and enjoy their cakes!
