I actually dislike Holy Cow. I regretted purchasing the coupons from the store. As restaurant may adjust their recipe, may be I can give Holy Cow another chance.
I found the interior decor had changed with more products display cupboards. Compared with the store front picture i took a year ago(omg a year already?), the tables were removed with only 3 stools left on the left side of the store. It seems Holy Cow decided to transform itself into a solely take-away shops.
The true reason behind the trying was that I could not resist the sweet look of the Sundae, I wonder who could. There are five sundae choices and that's when my choicephobia symptoms usually kicks in. This time I didn't use any brain cell at all since I bought myself five coupons, so I could try them all anyways! I chose Rock N Choco Sundae, chocolate is usually the safe net choice right...?
Froyo - There is original flavour froyo and a weekly flavour available in Holy Cow. You could try the taste before you decide.
Original froyo - Sadly they didn't change their recipe at all, the texture was as bad. The texture was smooth but not tarty enough, it was very icy - kinda like a sorbet feeling. It weighted very light on the palate, it was not creamy at all. Flavour wise, it had no milk taste nor yogurt's sourness in it. Actually, it didn't have much taste at all!
Chocolate Banana Froyo - The Salesperson says the banana tasted stronger than the chocolate flavour, but I reckon the reverse. There was a mild chocolate taste with a really sour banana taste - the combination was rather horrible. Ironically Holy Cow's froyo is pretty much tasteless to the point that it could be accepted.
Marshmallow - It was chewy but rather hard with a plastic feeling (I hope it had nothing to do with DEHP) and it is tasteless. Worst Marshmallow I had ever tasted.
Brownie - Quite thick and rough in texture, not sweet at all. The staff said it was a low fat brownie. Wait a minute, low fat doesn't mean no taste!
One thing I like about this froyo is the froyo and toppings were set in 2 layers, so each layer of flavourless froyo could have some flavour-giving toppings albeit the marshmallow and brownie were tasteless too.......
TO CONCLUDE....
I have to say I am disappointed that Holy Cow doesn't change the texture and taste of their froyo. For people that will just have a cup of plain froyo with a fruit topping, I really hope froyo stores could focus slightly more on their froyo quality but not on the topping. I do not want to see froyo stores rely too much on the side toppings. Unfortunately taste is very subjective and I couldn't force Holy Cow to change their recipe at all, The only thing I can do now is to pay the other 4 remaining sundae combo is good. (*weep)
