When I thought Korean fast food culture WAS a fad in Hong Kong, shops are still opening everywhere! I went to Hungry Korean at Causeway Bay tonight for a quick dinner. I think it is a branch as I have seen one at Tsim Sha Tsui years ago.

I used to wonder how could Dèlifrance priced their tuna egg mayonnaise sandwich that expensive (relatively) in Kowloon Bay, when there are sandwiches shops like Groves and local ones near by the area, but today, I have my answer.

As a matter of convenience, I went to Johnny Cafe for lunch to go after knowing they offer Tuna egg mayonnaise sandwich too. I was a bit worried at first but seeing they did grill the ciabatta warm. So I thought it couldn't be too bad?

Panash - Tasteless Croissant

I seldom get breads at Panash, because many breads are too sweet for my liking. I went there recently after work for a quick snack before dinner because I was starving. After I picked a pain au chocolate, I found some croissant looking kind of alright and decided to get it for breakfast sometime. Even though the croissant is airy and light, it did not have any buttery taste. It was also not flaky enough. The croissant tasted so bad that I swear I would not buy it again.

Happy Lemon - WORST Tea Ever tasted

Craving for a nice cup of milk tea with black jelly, I passed by Happy Lemon in Kowloon Bay during lunch and decided to grab a cup to go. I was elated to see Happy Lemon offers black jelly and taro balls as option because not many Taiwanese tea shops in Hong Kong have it.

Pudding is a dessert shop in Tai Hang that I had been wanting to try for long. I went there today with my friends and was hugely disappointed.

The shop was small but furnished in cosy simplicity. The ambiance was nice with relaxing music playing in the background. The menu was simple and we had no clue what the desserts look like from the picture. The staff was friendly and eager to serve, they passed us his iPhone and showed us the pictures of their desserts. (Shouldn't it be iPad serving this function nowadays?) Anyway, we ordered the following...

When I went to the mooncakes session at Sogo Basement, I found a cute white bear box in the display window at Milk Top. It was on sale, so I got a box home which contains 3 donuts.

Froyo Race Stop 16 ♥ Holy Cow

I actually dislike Holy Cow. I regretted purchasing the coupons from the store. As restaurant may adjust their recipe, may be I can give Holy Cow another chance.

I found the interior decor had changed with more products display cupboards. Compared with the store front picture i took a year ago(omg a year already?), the tables were removed with only 3 stools left on the left side of the store. It seems Holy Cow decided to transform itself into a solely take-away shops.

Trusty Gourmet | Crazy Gimmick Disappointing Soup

My friend highly recommended this restaurant for its soup and noodles bowl, so we went to try it out today and see if it was that great.

Apparently the most brilliant aspect in Trusty Gourmet was its soup - there were about six soup choices on the menu, while the noodles was additional sides that you could add in to your soup accordingly to your preference, just in case you won't be full solely drinking the soup.

There was an ad on the wall, promoting a private kitchen styled dinner by a Chinese chef called 'Brother Peter'. Another glance over the cashier, you might find Br. Peter managing the cash counter. There was several dishes stating they were especially prepared by Br. Peter, then shouldn't Chef Peter stayed at the kitchen? I kept wondering.

Jika Udon - Bad Quality Handmade Udon

Since my stomach still could not withstand stimulating food, Japanese noodles is my only available choice after porridge and macaroni. Jika Udon sprang to mind when I first thought of Japanese noodles, so I decided to try it out.

Working late today, I found this restaurant is still full at 8.30pm. Do all people eat that late for weekdays, or everyone was just off work like me. Anyway, the most important thing was that I don't need to wait for a seating.

I wouldn't exactly use the word spacious to describe this restaurant as others do since the tables were all tightly packed together! An inconsiderate customer who sat next to me spreaded all her belongings across the sofa which literally leave me no room to sit, plus I had to squeeze through the pathetically tiny gap in between the tables to get to my seat. Another crazy point that worthy to mention was that they have got themself a walk-in-fridge as their lavatory. I just couldn't believe how ridiculously freezing the lavatory can be, try imagine, 8 degree C.

PRC Restaurant and Lounge - Bad Lunch

Towards the mid February, I had two coupons expiring that took me out of my working area for lunch. I had seen People's Recreation Cafe across the street of Times Square no less than hundred times but never really got interested in it. Yet the one I was going to dine in was actually the branch in Lockhart Road. As expected, PRC is one hip cafe restaurant with decent decor. There was indoor and outdoor seatings while most smokers gathered at the outdoor terrace, dinning and smoking at the same time. The theme colour was brownish red in dark shade, so was the lighting there.

Fashion buy month came and there is no time to waste, my colleagues and I walked in any restaurant that had immediate available seats for a quickie lunch. We passed by this restaurant whose waiter stood at the door shouting "Seats available" in the restaurant.

五谷香粥店 - Ulmost Inexpensive Congee

Getting sick from the abrupt change of weather, I took leave from work and decided to hibernate under my blanket for the whole day.

Before I went for a doctor, I want to cure my hunger first. I wanted a bowl of congee and the only restaurant that springs to mind had closed down for quite a while already. The next area which will still offer congee should be in Jardine's Street and here I found a big word of Congee on a restaurant's bill board.

Bubble Green | Most Environmental UNfriendly Restaurant

Green, a typical colour used to symbolize the idea of environmental friendly, can always be seen in place where healthy foods are served. Bubble Green is a restaurant which located close to my office. Despite the word 'green' in its name, every interior decor is green in colour, which seemed to express an idea of fresh, green and environmental friendly.

Froyo Race Stop 11 ♥ Myogurt

Loitering in Wanchai, near 188 we found two froyo stores opened next to each other on the very same street. Both of the stores did not give you any good impression with their decor, especially Yippee, whose name sounded exciting but the decor was a bit shaddy that you would not even dare to step in.

On the other hand, Myogurt is comparatively more decent. There were picture frames hanging, glass container for toppings and a window with wide variety of toppings for selecion. However, the store's lighting was still a bit dark, making the store shady and dirty at the same time.

Du Lac Bleu | A big disappointment to begin my Sunday

Passing by and sniffing the seductive aroma of the pastries several times a week, I could not resist but visit the restaurant today for breakfast, getting ready to start my nice Sunday morning. Upon arriving the Cha Chaan Teng, I saw no freshly baked pineapple pastries that are usually trayed at the front door. Doubtly I went into the restaurant and checked their menus out. The staff told me they don't serve pineapple bun on Sunday. Very disappointedly I had to choose my next best alternative.

The Big Apple | Fusion or Confusion?

Once again, I went to this restaurant at lunch. The reason for re-visiting was simple, not because the food or the environment is nice, its because there were seats available. My friends chose to eat here before I knew it, so I ended up eating here again in this seemingly Western but Chinese styled restaurant.

Menya Kotaro | The Worst Tempura Ever

Last time I walked past Causeway Bay Plaza I, I saw this new pasta restaurant. Today I paid a visit there and found out it wasn't selling pastas but Japanese noodles! Oh well, I wasn't paying much attention to its name when I passed by last time.

Menya Kotaro's interior set up looked like a fast food restaurant which customers have to pick their own seats, but in fact you will be served and have to wait for a seating under the tickets system. The restaurant was pretty small, so tables were all set against each other and there weren't much personal space.

Froyo Race Stop 6 ♥ Holy Cow

I believe this should be the newest froyo store in Hong Kong at the moment. I passed by the store when I was on my way to Burgeroom. I would say its location is rather awkward, 'coz there shouldn't be a lot of people passing by Irving Street.Yet it should get lots of free advertising as many buses usually drive by.

This froyo store was in white and purple tone. Together with its cow logo, it kind of gave me a Yomama-wanna-be impression. Within the store, there was only three stools and a table, so do not expect there would be space to sit in and have your froyo after the shop became well-known. Despite froyo, the store also provides cakes, cookies and smoothes.

The Big Apple In HK

The reason I visited The Big Apple was because I lost my patient in waiting for a seating in the Laksa Restaurant on the opposite side of the very same street. I did not want to visit the restaurant at first because its name 'Big Apple' and its green store front decor suggested healthy which I wasn't feeling healthy at that moment. Anyway there were five of us, which was very difficult to find a seating in Jaffe Road whereas The Big Apple was among the few restaurants that you could not see a queue outside the restaurant. So there wasn't many choice, let's try it out!

Originally I thought The Big Apple was all about sandwiches, but later the waitress brought us a lunch menu and there were pastas and curry etc. $48 for a lunch set with a main dish and the soup of the day was pretty much in a nice price range you could usually find in Wan Chai.

Yi Yue | Not So Taiwan Style As Its Name Suggested

My family and I wanted a quick tea in Prince Edward this afternoon, we found this restaurant around the corner and seemingly looked nicer than the ones around. Although there weren't anyone dinning in the restaurant, we went in as the pictures on their food stand looked nice.

Minced Beef Rice

Since Yi Yue served typical Taiwanese food, we already had the dishes we want in mind upon seating. I skemmed the menu and saw a dinner set for two, athough there were 4 of us, we ordered the set anyway. The set was a very good bargain. It had 2 soups, 2 starters, 2 main courses, 2 drinks and a veggie at a price of $108. We originally had no idea about the soups until it arrived. The soup was in normal Chaa Chan Ten standard, nothing special about it. Let switched our focus to the foods that are on the menu.
