[Snack] Quest Bar - The Protein Bar

How do you like energy bars in Hong Kong? I love/ hate them. most of the bars in Hong Kong are more like cereal bars or fruit bars which all have high sugar and carbs content. They does not really help if you are looking for a lean snack.

Recently, OOSupplies sent me two energy bars from Quest Bar for tasting. Quest Bar is different from many other energy bars in Hong Kong as they are high in protein and low in active carbs, what's more it is gluten free!

The protein bar was pretty difficult to take out from the plastic wrapping as it had a sticky coating. The bar was dense and heavy. The texture gave me a jump as I was not expecting a nougat kind of texture from an energy bar, it was sticky and pretty heavy on the palate. Texture-wise I did not really like the bar, but it was very filling, I had one at 430pm for snack and I could not really finished it.

The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough protein bar had good chocolate aroma and was only mildly sweet. It taste quite chocolaty but I could not find any chocolate chip in it.

The White Chocolate Raspberry protein bar on the other hand was more tasty than the chocolate bar. This bar had a pleasant bubble gum aroma and tasted fruity and sweet, like a bowl of cereal with raspberry crisp in it.

The energy bar is definitely a good source of protein as it is made up with protein blend with Whey Protein isolate and Milk Protein isolate. There are 21g of protein and only 3g of active carbs in it. This could definitely be my after workout best snack as it provides whey protein for my muscle toning.

The Quest bar is not readily available in Hong Kong (as you know, Hong Kong's market is monopolised by several brands) If you are looking for a good protein source of snack after your workout or simply an lean energy source for your breakfast, you can get Quest Bar at OOSupplies online shop at this link >> OOSupplies.
