If you ask me what is the best dish in Tai Hing, I will carry no doubt and shout 'Baked rice with BBQ pork and peach in honey sauce'. It is simply too delicious that I could recall its flavour vividly on my palate whenever I think of the dish.
Baked rice with BBQ pork and peach in honey sauce
The orangy sauce was actually tomato sauce, but the tomato taste was lighter than the Baked rice with pork chop. The honey taste was mainly carried by the nicely roasted barbecue pork. The barbecue pork was at the best fatness content, which kept the pork tender. There was bits of fat piece along the barbecue pork that could be easily avoid, while there were also tiny bits that cling to the thin parts, although unavoidable, taste amazingly delicious. Very sinful but the fat was smooth and melted in your mouth promptly.
The rice was rather soft and had some nice salty taste with it. It should had been stir fried with oil before baking and hence each spoonful of rice was moist. The peach was extremely sweet, which I didn't dare to have a second one since it was weirdly sweet, like it had been soaked in sweet water or something. The veggie on the other hand tasted raw and felt like uncooked. The texture was not as hard as raw but was not flavourable to enjoy.
Red Bean Fleecy
It is the first time I encountered this name! Fleecy, I like it. The portion was more generous than I thought, since I have been constantly deceived by tall cups but platform bottom. The Ice was around 1/5 of the drink, while the red bean was around 2/5. The drink was insanely sweet, I have to honest that I never add sugar to my drinks, so my taste towards beverages is biased. The Red Bean Fleecy only tasted normal to me after I poured some water into the drink.
TO CONCLUDE...
The dish never fails me, except the veggie that tasted a bit raw. While dinning in the restaurant, I saw people eating funny dishes served on a giant fissy pot. It looked good and I would come back to give that a try.
