宏發燒臘 -| Mediocre Roasties at Attractive Price

Having much work to do at office, I decided to eat take away for lunch today. Speaking of take away food, I immediately thought of this roasts take away store that I passed by several times a week. When I arrive the restaurant, there was a few people queuing for the lunch boxes. A lunch box with 2 roasties cost only $20 which was quite a bargain.

The rice was kept hot even after a 10 minutes walk back to the office. The rice was on the soft side and was a bit sticky. The ginger onion sauce was very nice, it was pretty salty but just right to go with the rice. The soy sauced chicken was extremely smooth and tender. The skin was smooth and jelly like, but was too fat and sinful to enjoy. The chicken portion was fine but I would prefer to have more :).

The barbecue pork was on the other hand not as good as it looks. It was very thin and the texture was rather hard and chewy. The portion of the barbecue pork was quite generous, but since it was not as tasty as the soy sauced chicken, I did not want too much of it.

For the price of $20, the barbecue take away was definitely a great bargain. For the barbecue pork, I reckon it would taste much better if it was fatter. I would ask for a fattier barbecue pork next time and I guess it would make my lunch perfect.
