[Snacks] Meiji Fran - Three Fromage Choco Sticks

Fromage is a type of french cheese made from cow's milk and have a creamy sour taste. I have not ever tried Fromage myself before, and I wonder if Meiji Fran Three Fromage would gave me any imitate taste of Fromage.

[Snack] Glico Pocky Dessert - Banana Cake of Chocolate

This Glico Pocky Dessert again came with a fancy packaging and imported from Japan which hence sold at a higher price of $25 approx, about twice as much as a normal pack of China made Pocky, These is also available in many 7-11 stores, Okashiland as well as some supermarkets e.g. Citysuper, Marketplace and Taste. The box contained 4 individual packs of Pocky, each containing 3 chocolate sticks, which means there were only 12 chocolate sticks in a box, i.e. $2/stick! Horribly luxurious and pricy.

[Snack] Glico Pocky - Strawberry

I found 2 boxes of Glico Pocky with a strawberry flavour the other day in Okashiland. I bought this two packs separately at different locations, but I somehow reckon they are of the same flavour, just a different packaging.

However, I did think this pack in white was less moreish that the pack in pink. Firstly, the aroma was not as strong, It did not have the amazing signature aroma that Glico possesses whenever one opens his new pack of stick biscuit.

Secondly, the taste was pretty dull as the strawberry flavour was not strong at all. The strawberry taste was weak and it seemingly just gave the taste of creamy but not much else. The biscuit stick itself was fine, it was in normal crispiness.

In conclusion, I was not quite satisfied with this pack of Glico Pocky. It seemed to have less flavour than all other pockys that I have tried before.

Glico Pocky - Coconut Chocolate

I bought this pack of Glico Pocky in Japan a while ago. I did not really have much time to try all these snacks since I REALLY have got a lot of snacks with me.

This pack of Pocky had a very summer looking packing, there was a huge coconut on a blue background, seemingly floating on the ocean. The blue was royal, which made it more lovely.

Lotte Toppo | Strawherry

Its time to clear up my snack drawer! In order to start my diet real soon, I have to polish every single of my delicious evil snacks. Fortunately many of the snacks that I bought came in several little packs in a box, so I would not end up polishing literally everything by myself. So, you should be seeing my updating lots of snack reviews these coming weeks.

Glico Pretz - Kansai Negiyaki

I found this pack of newly stocked Glico Pretz along another pack of flavour in City Super several weeks ago. On the promotion board, it promoted 3 limited seasonal flavours, yet only 2 were available in City Super. Shame, I bought the available ones back home.

This flavour of this pack is Kansai Negiyaki, Negiyaki is a thinner variants of Okonomiyaki but with more Scallion. From the package of the box, you should be able to see those heaps of scallions throughout the pancakes.

To be honest, this pack of Pretz was not as savoury as I thought it would be, since Pretz were in general pretty salty to me. As I haven't really tasted Negiyaiki but Okonomiyaki, I could not really tell whether this stick biscuit really contained the taste of Negiyaki or not. All I can commented on is that it was only slight salty but a lot of Monosodium Glutamate. I was in extreme thirst after polishing the pack. Appearance wise, it was just as normal as the normal Pretz.

Glico Pocky | Apple Yogurt

This was another pretty box of Pocky after the Mixed Berry one. This box also contained 4 individual packs of biscuit sticks in the box. On each pocket's wrapper printed patterns of cute red apples.

The Apple Yogurt Pocky had a nice sweet and sour apple yogurt aroma which its aroma was way stronger than the Mixed Berry Pocky, but equally nice. Each biscuit stick was coated with a cream white coating on it. It was mildly sweet with a sour taste, like a yogurt and had a great apple taste. Each individual pack again contained only 5 biscuit sticks, which was not enough to satisfy my sweet tongue..

Kabaya - Okinawa Kokutou Pretzel

I thought this biscuit sticks was one of Glico’s Product, but it was from a company called Kabaya. I bought this pack of pretzel in Sogo as it said it was an Okinawa’s special Edition, in Brown Sugar Flavour.

Japanese people loved to use brown sugar in many occasions, in cooking, added to tea to give a better taste or as a snack itself. There was a dieting book which use brown sugar as the main ingredient in her diet plan.

Upon unwrapping the packet, I could smell a mild scent of brown sugar, a very familiar aroma as I have myself tried that brown sugar dieting as well lol. The biscuit stick contained a strong taste of brown sugar, but was not sweet at all. The biscuit sticks were equally moreish as many other nice biscuit sticks I had before, so even though they came with 2 packs in a box, I finished them all in one seating.

Glico Pocky - Mix Berry

This pretty box of Pocky contained 4 individual small packs of pockets in the box. On wrappers of each individual pockets printed patterns of cute strawberries and other berries.

The Mix Berry Pocky had a great berry aroma but the intensity was less than the apple yogurt one. Each biscult stick was beautifully coated with a baby pink coating with bits of strawberry pink spots on it. It had a strong taste of berry fruits and was mildly sweet with a sour taste, like a yogurt. Each individual  pack contained only 5 biscuit sticks which was very moreish and simply not enough for the crave.

4 mini individual packs of pocky with cute patterns on the wrapper.

Glico Pretz - Salad

Cravingness: ★★★☆☆

Missed a box, the most typical flavour of all, the Salad Pretz. I bet Glico should have this flavour everywhere in the world, but I am not sure whether this is the best flavour of all. Spicy shrimp seems a better choice than salad, isn't it?

Surprising, this box of Pretz was very different from all other Pretz. The texture of the stick biscuits was extremely crispy! The crispiness was nearly to the extent of having crisps, but not quite the same shape. I will weird having this box of Pretz as it did not give the stick biscuits texture it used to give. Anyway, the taste of the biscuits was still the same, very savory!

Glico Pretz - Tomato

The tomato flavour was my last flavour at present. There is a saying that 'The best is saved and enjoyed until the last minute", this tomato flavour might very well fit in that.

This Pretz had a rich tomato flavour along with some sweet and saltiness. The sweetness might have dominated the saltiness, but the combined taste was nice. Moreover It had a nice rich tomato after taste and it was pretty long lasting too! The stick also had a strong tomato aroma. This tomato flavour was very moreish, like many of the savory flavour, the pack was polished within minutes.

Glico Pretz - Mushroom

This Glico Pretz mushroom was the second last flavour I left at the moment. It came with three individual packing as well, so I won't feel so guilty having them daily lol.

I personally reckon this Glico Pretz Mushroom tasted more like a Pizza flavour than a Mushroom flavour. The taste was very salty and had a strong Pizza taste. Although there weren't any mushroom taste at all, it was generally pretty nice.

Glico Pretz - Bacon Vegetable

4 more Pretz flavours to go and its like I could not wait to have them all finished. Well in fact there are more Glicos left for me to try in my room’s snack drawer and I have not opened that drawer for like at least a month? Geez, I guess I have really bought too much snack in a go, I am kinda feeling guilty about all these snacks now.

Doesn’t it sound wonderful to have a snack drawer? I bet, but not when you feel all this guilt running through you after you have so much, too much snacks. Hmmm, luckily my guilt goes away within hours, after all, I just love eating snacks a lot. (This person is ultimately contradicting herself.)

I had actually tasted a stick or two of this flavour way before I opened mine. I just love how it feels like to open my own box of snack, so I wait until today to write about this flavour. I remember this flavour was nice, so I had it today after I tried the Honey Pomelo yesterday.

The stick biscuits had a strong scent, it smelt exactly how it tasted. After taking in a few sticks, I found the taste familiar but still could not put it in terms. So I went to check the box’s description, (Yes, I did not know what I did not check what I will be having before I had it.) and it said Bacon Vegetable. Of course it was bacon vegetable, it tasted exactly like a smoked bacon, very salty, like the taste of bacon spinach but much saltier. The taste was robust and rich, it lingered on your palate long after you finished the sticks. It was salty to the point that I felt very thirsty and went to drink 2 cups of water down my stomach right after I polished the pack off. FYI, the box came with 3 individual packs of stick biscuits. I just had a pack, meaning this snack was extremely salty.

Glico Pretz - Honey Pomelo

Pretzzzzzzzzzz! Haven't had a pack for days and having 5 more flavours(which is a lot) to go, I decided to open a box to go with my Gossip Girl. Hearing comments from my rommie that Honey Pomelo is the most disgusting flavour of Pretz she had ever tasted, made me very curious about the taste of this Pretz! This box of Pretz is significantly larger than all other Glico biscuits as it contained 3 individual medium packs of biscuits in it.

Before I start describing how this Pretz tasted, please allow me to jump to the conclusion first.  I think I literally have a completely different preferences with my roomie. I bet our taste buds should hate each other. I personally reckon this flavour although tasting absolutely funny, was not bad at all. The combining taste was confusing but quite funny to try. It does worth trying out, but I agree this would not be on my priority list if I crave for a box of Pretz, not even top 5.

The Honey Pomelo Pretz surprising did not have the typical strong fragrance rushing out of the wrapper like all other Pretz do. It had a very interesting taste, very sour and very sweet at the same time yet both taste were very distinct and did not overtake the other at any time. The sourness were like lemon sour, but not the one that would make you squeezed you eyes and asked for help. The sweetness did not exactly honey like, but its pretty sweet. The stick did not really have the taste of pomelo. Weird but worth trying.

Glico Dessert Pocky | Custard Cake of Strawberry

Coming with a fancy packaging, this box of Glico Dessert Pocky is sold at a price at approximately $25. It was an import from Japan and can now be bought in 7-11 and Okashiland. There were four flavours in the Glico Dessert Pocky series and custard cake of strawberry is one of them. The box contained 4 individual packs of Pocky, each containing 3 chocolate sticks, which means in total only 12 chocolate sticks in a box! What a luxury box of chocolate Pocky.

Not only the box looked fancy, the chocolate sticks themselves were too. The Creamy white chocolates coating was perfectly swirled with pink strawberry chocolate and thickly piped along the whole biscuit stick. The stick mainly gave a strawberry taste when first consume but the after taste did suggest a taste of taking a bit on a strawberry custard cake. The stick was mildly sweet and very so scrumptious that I polished two tiny individual packs at once. I am now looking at the box wondering whether I should continue having the rest of them….May be after a bit of work.

Glico Pretz | Curry

After all these Glico that I have tried, I reckon I personally prefer salty flavoured Pretz over sweet flavoured Pretz. I had this Curry Pretz last night and felt very contended after polishing the whole box off. The contentment was more than the one I had right after I had a sweet one.

Anyway, the pack of Curry Pretz had a robust curry aroma and an addicting taste. Although it was a bit salty, I could not stop myself from eating stick right after stick. The delicious curry taste kept lingering on your palate even after polishing the box. I guess salty flavoured Pretz gave more contentment because it gave you a similar feeling of eating pizza or something, food that are yummy and salty.

Glico Pocky | Strawberry

I remembered when I was small there used to have Strawberry Pocky available everywhere in the market. I had no idea since when there are only Chocolate Pocky left available for sale in 7-11. Even if there were Strawberry Pocky available in 7-11, it was not the same kind that I used to have. Due to this reason, I had totally forgotten the taste and had got myself totally addicted to Chocolate Pocky. Finally I found this pack of Pocky in Okashiland. Although it is a Japanese version, still it was pretty closed to what we used to have.

After tearing off the wrapper, I could immediately smell the lovely sweet strawberry aroma coming out of the Pocky. The pink strawberry chocolate coating was pretty thin as you could see the bread stick's pattern underneath it. The coating was quite sweet and the strawberry flavour was strong and lovely. The stick was very moreish and since the box was pretty small, I polished it off quickly. Begging for more, I would definitely buy more when I went to Okashiland next time.

Glico Pretz | Butter

My friend commented that the Butter Pretz tasted liked Four Seas Stick Biscuit which got me pretty excited as i love that snack too.

I wrapped open the packing and again it was full of a decent butter scent. The biscuit although was heavily butter flavoured, it was not the taste I was anticipated for. It has no similarity with Four Seas Stick Biscuit. Four Seas Stick Biscuit is sweet and butterly, while Butter Pretz was also butterly but extremely salty, every stick i had was full of salt and it was not pleasant at all. I will go for other Pretz next time in store.

Glico Double Pretz | Matcha Vanilla

I brought 2 packs of Pretz back to work this morning, Matcha Vanilla Double Pretz and Butter Pretz. I have just polished a box of Matcha vanilla and I can foresee I would be polishing the other box pretty soon! Judging by my Glico try-out pace recently, I am kind of worry about my weight.....I did not see myself growing in weight, but my stomach seems stucking out! Hope a bit of exercising could flatten it back.

The pack of Matcha Vanilla had a strong scent of white chocolate, with just a light matccha aroma. This Double Pretz had a greenish white vanilla flavoured coating pipped along the green matcha biscuit stick. The Vanilla had a stronger taste than Matcha, yet the stick still contains a slight touch of Matcha along with the thicker taste of vanilla on it. The overall taste and after taste was not strong, so the whole pack was munched stick by stick without noticing it. In the end, I was not contented as I seem like having a flush of wind.

Glico Double Pretz | Milk Coffee

Havn't had a box of Double Pretz for long and I almost forgot why it was different from the original Pretz. The Milk Coffee Double Pretz overall had a thick great taste in between milk tea and latte. The flavour was brought about by a pearl white milk chocolate coating piping along the coffee flavoured brown biscuit stick.

The bread stick was pretty sweet but amazingly moreish. The milk taste was a perfect pair to the coffee stick which is pretty understandable as latte is a conventional drink in everyday's life. Thumb up for Milk Coffee Double Pretz!
