八方雲集 | Delicious Pan Fried Dumplings on Street

There are simply too much fast food street stalls nowadays that sometimes you just feel too guilty about eating them. My friend recommended this dumpling place to me and claiming it is the best dumplings stores in town. I got a bit interested and went trying today.

The store mainly works as a take away store, yet having some self served tables for people to dine in. The dining utensils are paper plates and cups, plastic spoon and wooden chopsticks. The restaurant was dirty and oily. To be blunt, the dining environment was horrible and disgusting.

Pan Fried Kimchi Dumplings Set $28

I ordered a set of pan fried kimchi dumplings with sour and spicy soup. The kimchi dumplings were served quick, seemingly precooked beforehand, but was still fortunately hot and fresh. The dumplings were actually quite nice. The skin was very thin but would not ripped apart easily. The fillings were savoury and had a great kimchi taste, yet it did not have the spiciness kimchi posses. The soya sauce the restaurant provides was insanely salty, be noted and dip the right amount before enjoying the dumpling.

Sour and Spicy Soup

The sour and spicy soup was real bad. It tasted extremely salty and I could literally feel a lot of MSG in it. The ingredients inside was not fresh at all. I had this feeling that they just mixed everything together, stirred it a bit and then served us.

Pan Fried Pork Dumplings Set $26

The dumplings had a simpler taste than the kimchi dumpling. The taste of the pork was obvious, and you could literally taste the freshness of the veggie. Simpler, not complicated yet very savoury and tasted much nicer.

4) Pan Fried Leeks Dumplings $10/5 pcs
Yet the best of all was the pan friend leeks dumpling. Actually it was a personally reference, since I love leeks to the max. The taste of the leeks was so strong and fresh that every bite was very heavenly delicious. Highly recommend this dish if you like leeks!

Although the restaurants' dining environment was horrible, the food quality was literally decent! Personally speaking, finding a spot on the street should be way better than dining in the restaurant. Hence take away is highly recommended.
