Du Lac Bleu | Quickie at CWB

I recently found out it is pretty difficult to find a restaurant that you have never visited before and at reasonable price. We remembered there is a Cha Chaan Teng that does pot rice in Jardine's Street and went straight down to fill our stomach.

The restaurant was packed on a Sunday evening, the waitress directed us to the second floor where more seats are available. The restaurant on the second floor where interior was simple and seemingly less nicely furnished. Tables and chairs were simple wooden chair. There were several fans hanged on the high wall and producing breezy winds. Heaps of picture sticked on wall showing their significant dishes in the restaurants.

1) Minced pork cake topping with preserved flowering cabbage and preserved sausage pot rice
Hmm, typing preserved twice in a roll made me felt pretty unhealthy, but I wasn't really aware of that when I ordered the dish in Chinese. I have always love pot rice, I love the way it looks and love the way the rice got burned and crispy alongside of the pot. There wasn't much pork cake on top of the rice, there were even less preserved flowering cabbage in it. Isn't preserved flowering cabbage supposed to be cheap? The ingredients portion was quite unproportional. The preserved sausage on the other hand was not as salty as it ought to be. The fat content was little but was still oily. The rich was on the hard side but still tasted nice. The burned rice along the side of the pot was crispy to enjoy. The pot was generally on average, but I would rather go to Yau Ma Dei for some nicer pot rice given the price.

2) Stir fried Pork Belly with Nissan Noodle. $45
The dish was reflectingly oily when served. The Nissan noodle were pretty moist and were fried along with the Sate saucing to give a great taste. The pork belly was meaty and tender and was in generous amount.

The restaurant displayed hot breads in the morning and pot rice at night. The outside setting made the restaurant looks appetizing, but in fact it brought me disappointment everytime I dine in the restaurant. I really do started to think this restaurant does not worth a revisit anymore.
