What style of afternoon tea are you? Grand? modern? classy or girly? If girly is your thing, you cannot miss the afternoon tea set at Tea Saloon by AnotherFineDay.
The tea saloon by AnotherFineDay is located in a peaceful neighborhood area at Mid-levels. I know, the location of Tea Saloon is not a welcoming one, but once you arrived the tea saloon, the stair climbing is worth it. The tea saloon is very eye catching with a lovely pastel purple wall in Victorian Style. You just cannot miss it!
You can opt to sit outside, but judging from this crazily hot weather, you might want to sit indoor with air conditioning.
One cannot not notice this vibrant coloured chalkboard stand at the garden. One thing that I love about Tea Saloon is they serve afternoon tea ALL DAY! Now you can indulge in scones, finger bites cakes, sandwiches and tea anytime of the week!
Greeted by a beautiful garden at the entrance, you passed through the door and enter into a girly wonderland. Walled up in pastel pink wallpapers, the tea saloon is furnished in glamorous Victorian style. With glistering chandelier, gold vintage framed paintings and vintage looking furniture, the tea saloon is very classy and feminine.
There is a faux fireplace creating a homey ambiance to the tea room.
Tea Saloon offers two kind of afternoon tea set - the Ladies Afternoon Tea which has a nice balance between sweets and savouries; and the Gentlemen Afternoon Tea for people who prefer savouries more. Both tea set are priced at HKD288 per person or HKD498 for two. We opt for the Ladies for two today.
With a vast selection of teas imported from all over the world, I however opt for a cup of their signature Hot Chocolate. The chocolate was nice but it was the thin type so I got a bit disappointed. A piece of milk chocolate was served along with the hot chocolate.
Ta-dah! Here comes our Ladies afternoon tea set presented on a three leveled stainless steel cake stand. The cake stand tip also has the leaves pattern to match with the utensils, but I think it will look nicer in white.

The utensils at Tea Saloon are elegant. The porcelain plate is grand looking with golden leaves pattern, the fork and knives has a cute leaves handle at the end, but are rather difficult to use. The glass is beautiful, it looks like those crystal glass in topaz colour.

Top level sat the scones. The scone was a disastrous as it was flavourless and stiff in texture. The signature rose clotted cream was lovely though.
Next I went for the bottom level for the savouries and sandwiches. The most outstanding pieces are the two tartlers, the others are quite average. The Mushroom Puffy Pie had buttery and crispy puff topped with creamy and juicy mushroom.
The other tartler was the Smoked Salmon with Egg Mayo. It also had a super crispy puff, on top held some creamy egg mayo and a sweet smoked salmon.
The Black Truffle Prosciutto & Manchego Cheese Panini was quite flavourful. It was a cheesy one with savoury prosciutto and toasted panini.
The Egg Tart was average. The custard was eggy but the caramelised layer was not crispy, and the puff pastry was soft.
The Glass pot dessert was one of my favourite on the afternoon tea set. It has a strong pomelo flavour with appropriate sweetness and has some shredded pomelo to bit on. A delightful one.
The beautiful Mini cupcake was again rose in flavour. The cupcake was moist in texture, the buttercream was smooth and not too sweet.
The brownie was not too flavourful and hard in texture. I just took a small bite of it.
I generally love the tea saloon by AnotherFineDay. The ambiance is the best, very girly and elegant. The afternoon tea set itself is alright, nothing really surprised me! Before you leave the tea saloon, you can get some of their tea and signature jam back home. The packaging is cute too!
