Zebratasty - Your New Sandwich & Salad Shop in Kowloon Bay

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★★☆

This might only interest the working group at Kowloon Bay as I am going to introduce a fine sandwich and salad delivery shop called Zebratasty in Kowloon Bay. Zebratasty is opened by two of my Uni friends. The passionate two are eager to become the best of its kind in the Kowloon Bay office area.

I am not recommending this shop because they are my friends, I am recommending it because the food tasted delicious. I dine at Pret all the time but I got bored to the never changing menu. The Grove next door is pricey given it's hideous portion, and it's not even fresh. I have tried almost everything on Zebratasty's menu, and I truly think they offers fresh delicious food at competitive price. Plus there is no minimum order amount for delivery!

Enough said, let's check out their menu. Zebratasty offers a good range of sandwich and salads. The menu contains typical options like the Greek salad, Caesar salad, Roast Beef or Chicken Sandwich, but also some interesting options like the Thai Beef salad. If you eat salad or sandwich everyday like me, you can also opt for their "Go Healthy" scheme of HKD300 for any 10 sandwiches and salads on the menu. There are more schemes on the web, feel free to check it out.

Below is a typical set you can get from Zebratasty. I will only recommend you get the set if you are a big eater because their salad portion is huge and I never manage to finish one myself. The set like this costs HKD62.

Turkey Deluxe Cranberry
The thing that I like about Zebratasty is that they use rye bread for their sandwiches - a healthier choice with better nutrients! The half size sandwich is packed in a brown paper box with a clear window for u to peek the content.

Ingredients are clearly listed on the label for your checking. Date of production is also also stamped on the box to proof freshness.

The turkey deluxe is a colourful stack of fresh cucumber, crisp lettuce, tomatoes, slices of turkey and cranberry jam within two slices of rye breads. The turkey was lean and a bit dry in texture. The cranberry sauce was lovely and moist up the turkey but it was not spread evenly. The rye bread was soft and wheaty with lots of seeds in it. Mayo was heftily smeared onto the bread which made the sandwich overly sweet. You will love this if you love mayo, but I personally prefer less of it.

Thai Beef Salad - HKD40
Salad at Zebratasty is generously portioned, it is twice the size of Pret and three times the size of Grove. The Thai Beef Salad is an exotic salad filled with Thai aroma and flavour. Coriander leaves were added extensively, so make sure you like coriander before you order this. The bowl was filled with flavourful lemongrass marinated beef, crisp cucumbers, purple onions, shredded peanuts and lots of garlic which made me worried about my after breathe when I was having the salad. The peanut sauce and spicy dressing is good but too dressy which made the salad too wet.

Orange juice are 100% freshly squeezed! A similar cup would costs HKD23 in Causeway Bay!

Other than the set, I would like to include one of my favourite sandwich at Zebratasty, the Goat Cheese Special. The sandwich in full size also comes in a brown paper box with a clear window to show the content.

The filling was not a lot but enough to satisfy me. The goat cheese was creamy and milky, the tomato slices was the perfect pair to the goat cheese. Combine with the soft and grainy rye bread, this sandwich is designed to be loved!

Earlier I mentioned Zebratasty's salads are dressy, they actually have a few salads that served the dressing in an individual container now. I believe they are on their way to serve all their salads that way. However you could not really tell which salad has the dressing served aside, it would be a great advantage if they can make this information more clear on the website or their promotion leaflets.

I really love Zebratasty as it delivers fresh and delicious sandwiches and salads as promised. The design of their packaging is cool. They are also very environmentally conscious as they use recycle materials in packaging and they promote recycling the plastic boxes. Do ring them and give them a try if you love salads and sandwiches! Shop information can be found at the end of the review! =)
