[Nha Trang] A fun day at the beautiful 100 Egg Mud Bath

When I say mud bath, does the idea gross you out? If you are, then you have a totally wrong idea in mud bath! The 100 Egg Mud Bath is the largest tourist attraction in Nha Trang offering fun and relaxation in one place. The park is great for family or young couples! I had an amazing time there at 100 Egg Bath and would recommend everyone visiting Nha Trang going, especially if you are a egg maniac.

Getting to the 100 Egg Mud Bath is easy. You can ask your hotel reception which most offer a great price of VDN130,000 (HKD49.50/USD7) one way, never go there by meters, it drains your wallet. The trip takes you approximately at least 20 minutes, so relax yourself and enjoy the nature along the way. For your return trip, there are lots of taxi waiting outside the park.

I almost fell asleep during the 20 minutes drive, but got excited as soon as I see the 100 Egg Mud Bath Billboard on the road! The park is like a castle perches on a hill crest!

When you arrived at the park, you see eggs everywhere! Super cute! The park is opened in 2012 December 12th, so the park is still very clean and new.

The main attractions at the 100 Egg Mud Bath are Mud Bath Therapy, Mineral Bath Therapy, Mud Plastering (a kind of spa treatment) and foot soaking. You can also opt for mud bath in a group pool with your friends or family! We opt for the mud bath therapy which costs us VDN300,000 (HKD114/ US15) per person. Below I will walk you through my experience.

The ticketing centre is a beautiful straw hut with electric fans and water spraying system to cool the heat. We were handed a leaflet in English with prices. The staff here don't speak good English, so you could not rely on them to explain the leaflet. Just read through them and pick your treatment.

After paying, they will hand you your mud bath tickets and a map. The park is HUGE! So hold on to your map and make sure you don't get lost!

The park is extremely beautiful. It is filled with trees and flowers with birds singing as you walked around the park. Embrace the nature while you are in there.

We arrived at the Egg Mud reception after a little walk. We were greeted and then lead to the changing room to change into our swimming suits. We were given locker keys and were requested to keep all our valuable things at the check in counter. Since I wanted to take pictures of the whole mud bath experience, I kept my phone with me. They then gave me a little plastic bag to hold the phone, how thoughtful.

The changing rooms for males and females are separate. The changing room is simple but is fully equipped with showering and washroom service, further in are two areas filled with lockers. There aren't much seats and hooks for you while you change your clothes, luckily the floor looks pretty clean, so I did put my stuff on the floor.

Once you stepped out of the changing room, you were sent to a series of mineral rain shower and hydrotherapy. The hydrotherapy requires you to pass through a tunnel which shoots mineral water in high pressure. (The three low stone walls on the left of below picture) I walked through it twice but found it quite painful. Henry absolutely loved it through, he does not feel any pain at all. I guess man has thicker skin.

Next you go the second shower was a much milder one, a lovely overhead mineral rain shower.

Next was the most exciting part, the egg mud bath! All egg baths are situated at a higher level on a mountain for better privacy concern. We were handed a bottle of water and were leaded to our private egg! When we arrived our egg, a staff was cleaning the egg and making a mud bath for us. That is a real relief as I was once concern about the hygiene.

I passed by this bath tube on the way to my private egg. I guess this is a more open option.

The individual egg bath is very private. You could not really see the person in the egg next to you unless you make an effort to.

The mud was more dilute and lighter than I thought, I always thought the mud would be heavy and sticky. The mud bath was greyish in colour and not transparent at all. It was quite fun playing around in the mud bath, writing words on the shell, losing your thoughts in the beautiful view.

We got bored quick and decided to leave the egg. When you step out of the egg tube, there is a bucket of clean water beside the tube to wash the mud off your body.

When we got back to the ground level, we were asked to take a shower before enjoying other facilities in the Park. I guess it is fair, you don't want to the park to really be a mud park. Henry was given an ugly rental short to change, as an act to keep the park area clean just in case you did not bring a spare swimwear. Fortunately we both did have a spare swimwear, so we return the rental swimwear.

We started exploring around in the park and found a nice swimming pool with sun bathing beds. There is a mouth watering barbecue stand by the pool, but the Russian family of six ordered everything available. Very nice of them....

There are loads of banana tree everywhere in the Park! I wish they are more mature, so I can just take one off the branches!

There is also a Hot Mineral Jacuzzi Pool right next to the swimming pool but the weather is too hot to enjoy in the hot mineral jacuzzi pool.

Baring with a thundering stomach as the food was all ate by the Russian Family, we went to find other restaurants in the park. We went to the Egg cafe since it is in the closest range.

We, or basically just me, were elated to see the huge cracked egg shell as the roof of the cafe! The food is mostly western, but we somehow have this crave for western food after many Vietnamese meals.

The furnishing is real cute with tree trunk tables and chairs.

I had coffee crunch - VDN45,000 (HKD17.50) to start which is a cold drink made up of coconut milk, whipped cream, egg, coffee and sugar. I couldn't taste any coconut flavour in the coffee and did not like the drink.

Ice Vietnamese Coffee is always a solid choice.

We did request for some barbecue over the Egg Cafe, the skewers were smoky and juicy. We also tried to order some wings, but whatever sold out in the stand, is sold out anywhere else you requested it.

We also ordered a beef burger, but we requested to serve it with a baguette. They refused initially but they did send us one serving with the baguette! =) The beef baguette tasted alright but the best of this dish actually lies on the chips!!!!! It was freaking good! Apart from the crispiness and creaminess, It also had this interesting chewiness on the inside! I have never had chips with such cute texture!

After the meal, we went to check out the waterfall. The waterfall is an artificial one but it's beautiful! We had a lot of fun there. Right next to the waterfall is the mushroom village. I feel like I went to Alice in the Wonderland!

Fight for the massage spot!

I spent a fun 4-5 hours in the park and left at around 4pm. I do enjoy the whole experience there. It is definitely a park for a whole family but also a great fun park for young couples!
