The Socialhouse - Food with Interesting twist

Price: $$
Cravingness: ★★★☆☆1/2

One might think The Socialhouse is a lively bar restaurant for friends to mingle, in fact The Socialhouse has this romantic setting which actually suits couples dining more. Anyway I went with my dad tonight, so I had a nice candle light dinner with him. Ha! The restaurant is always empty, but I wanted to try it for long so that couldn't change my mind.

The wine list was not comprehensive, I randomly chose Arocho S. Blanc $68 but it was too fruity for my liking. Should had asked the waiter for recommendation.

Lamb Carpaccio $108 (10/10)

For starters we picked lamb Carpaccio because the waiter highly recommended it. I never had lamb carpaccio, so why not! Differs from beef carpaccio, the lamb was not as thinly sliced. The beautiful pinkish lamb had a chewy but tender texture which was quite interesting. The lamb was nicely seasoned and went really well with the salsa! Highly recommended!

French Onion Soup $88 (4/10)

To be honest, this soup is a complete rip off. The portion was pathetic, the container was tiny, crouton was small, cheese was lightly spreaded and melted onto the crouton. The broth was alright but the onion taste was not sharp enough.

Ratatouille $78 (8/10)

The ratatouille was great. The tomato sauce was nice and the veggies are all very crunchy. The tortilla chips were a great idea to pair with this ratatouille. Loved the dish.

Aglio Oli $98 (5/10)

The tossed olive linguine was quite badly made. Even though the taste of olive oil and the spiciness were sharp, the linguine was cooked badly. It was overly soft and soggy.

Some of the dishes were actually interesting and nice. I can see how the chef like to integrate different cuisine together. I would love to come more for their dishes!
