You scream, I scream, we scream for ice-cream. Yes, under this sizzling hot summer, all we want is just a scoop of ice-cream and here is the first ever Belgium ice-cream shop in Hong Kong, Glacio! I was invited to its grand opening on 3 August 2013 where it is located on the lower ground floor at K-11, Tsim Sha Tsui.
With hummingbird as Its symbol, Glacio is an agile explorer who seeks and collects the best ingredients for its ice-cream from all over the world. The sky blue themed ice-cream shop is pretty petite, with a cool showcase of tens of Belgium ice-cream and another showcase displaying some cakes products that would be made to order at the preparation kitchen further inside.
Glacio's ice-cream is available in single, double or even triple scoops in either cup or freshly made waffle cones. Despite scoops, Glacio also offers parfait, ice cream patisserie, Belgium waffles and specialty drinks which are perfect for Hong Kong's crazy summer.
This Belgium Chocolate flavour ranks second out of all the flavours I tried today. It was creamy, mildly sweet with a rich and intense Belgium chocolate flavour. Delish!
The beautifully marbled white and purple swirl ice-cream had a powerful fruity taste but was only mildly sweet. This was loved by us.
I almost yelled out for this awesome speculoos cookies ice-cream! The ice-cream itself was strongly speculoos biscuit flavoured. What makes it more lovely is the speculoos biscuits bits coated with caramel in it! Yummmmmy!
This bright red wine coloured Mixed berry sorbet was sweet to the max with icy texture. I did not like it.
The pistachio weirdly has a strong taste of almond which totally overpowered the pistachio taste.
The mint chocolate creamy ice cream had a strong mint taste with chocolate bites in it.
Tartufo Bianco means white truffle. The ice-cream cake was a vanilla based ice-cream with an espresso ice-cream inner, nicely paired with caramel sauce. This was pretty good but I got a bit disappointed because I thought it was truffle tasted, which would be quite interesting.
The Parfaiy Caramel is a caramel ice-cream with soft hazelnut flavoured bougat coating and finished with drizzling caramel sauce on top and whipped cream at the side. This is overly caramel to me but is great for caramel lovers.
