My first encounter with Stephen James Organics' Pili Nuts was at Giando's tasting brunch and I fell in love with it immediately. I never had nuts with the same texture as Pili nuts. What is most special about Pili nuts I reckon is how each and every one tastes slightly different. It gave me some surprises and joy when I am having them. Special thanks to Stephen James Organics for sending me these lovely nuts to sample! :)
Pili Nuts are no original nuts, they are nuts from tropical Pili trees that are rooted deep in rich, volcanic soil. Blasted by 3 meters of rain and 20 major typhoons a year, these are nuts from extreme nature. These sturdy trees of Philippine Rain Forest produce the most delicate, buttery, healthy nut. The nuts undergo a proprietary pre-sprouting process activating living energy. They are then alo-dried at low temperature over 2 days. The Pili Nuts has high levels of heart healthy omegas 3,6,9, all 8 essential amino acids and a treasure chest of bio-available minerals.
The original Volcanic Phili Nuts are long and flat in sizes and are much softer than general nuts in the market. They are extremely buttery, naturally sweet and salty.
The Cocoa Pili Nuts are pre-sprouted Pili Nuts coated in naturally iron-rich 100% organic raw cacao and Carazuc. The nuts are dehydrated at low temperatures to ensure that the enzymes remain intact and the oils balanced. The organic raw cacao contains a bouquet of antioxidants and plenty of minerals that are good for human body.
The Cocoa Pili Nuts even though are fully coated with cocoa powder, they are not powdery at all. They are also buttery with a mildly sweet cocoa taste.
Depends on the mood, sometimes I love the original Volcanic Pili Nuts as they are more buttery, sometimes I love the Cocoa Pili Nuts more for the chocolate taste. Both of the Pili Nuts are available in 34g Packets, 145g cans. The Pili Nuts are available for purchase at many gourmet retail outlets located in Hong Kong and Macau. Check below link for a full list of outlets. Stephen James Organics also ships international, so check their website for more information!
