SOYJOY Fruit Bars - Either Love It Or Hate It


WHAT IS SOYJOY? 

SOYJOY is Made with whole soy powder with non-GMO soybean and natural dried fruits, SOYJOY Fruits Soy Bar is low in calorie and contains rich phytonutrients including high quality plant protein, isoflavone and fibers that helps promote healthy hearts, bones and bodies. It is marketed as an healthy snack bar due to its low GI content.

WHAT IS GI? 

GI is Glycermic Index. GI is a measure of the effects of carbohydrates on blood sugar levels. Carbohydrates break down during digestion and release glucose into the bloodstream. The higher the GI Value the food contains, the faster increase the release of glucose into the blood steam, hence boost up the insulin secretion forming fats. Furthermore, a high level of insulin decreases the blood glucose level rapidly, which makes you hungry easily and you crave more food! Food with >55 GI value is defined as low GI food.

SO, HOW DOES IT TASTE? 

Upon opening the SOYJOY strawberry fruit soy bar, I was disappointed that it didn't give a strong fruity smell like a cereal bar does. Judging its outlook, the dark brownish rectangular bar has nothing related to beauty. Taking down the first bite, it tasted slightly burned but is what make the bar distinct. It contains nuts and some dry strawberries fruit on it which gives the bar a mild strawberry taste. Texture wise it is somewhat dry and chewy. Even though it is very different from cereal bars, the SOYJOY fruit bar is somehow pretty yummy and filling consider the chewiness. Definately a snack which you either love it very much or hate it to death, and I am towards the loving it side.
