The Flying Pan - Yummy Ranchero Eggs

Price: $
Cravingness: ★★★★★

Meals in the Flying Pan is never disappointing, in fact, spending time in it is also pretty relaxing and enjoyable too. Today we skipped the usual yum cha time and went to Flying Pan instead.

The restaurant was very packed when we arrived the restaurant, mostly with foreigners, kinda like their style of yum cha perhaps. We waited for some minutes and were brought to a set of couches near the entrance of the restaurant. Comfy as it seemed but at the same time pretty uncomfortable as the first thing mostly everyone who came in the restaurant did was stare at us lol.

The Philly Omelettes was absolutely AMAZING. I was about to order My favourit Egg Florentine, with Spinach & Bacon but decided to try something new. I saw Ranchero Eggs on the menu and had no idea what that is. Letting alone the not-so-appealling mini picture on the bottom of the menu, I trusted the description which sound way more promising. Tortillas, fried potates and melted cheese, how bad could it be?

Ranchero Eggs is a classic Mexican breakfast dish, meaning "eggs ranch-style" or "eggs country-style" in Spanish. The dish traditionally was served at the large mid-morning breakfast on rural farms where workers had a much smaller meal at dawn.(That's explain why I couldnt really take anything for the rest of the day!). The Flying Pan verion of Ranchero Eggs consists of a slightly fried corn tortillas, double halfly fried eggs with melted cheese, refried beans, fried potates served with salsa, sour cream and jalapeno peppers on top and two grilled tomatoes on side. It is such a good dish! I like to have it in very big forkful bites with my favourite Ketchup with Tabasco sauce! Simply recalling the taste makes me wanna run back to the Flying Pan right now! Ranchero Eggs is definately something you shouldn't miss

P.S. The bottomless coffee is horrible.
